Welcome to Eddy Ridge Grassland’s Oxen Resources Page
For me, this is primarily this is an economic decision. On farms of less than 75 acres, horses have been well demonstrated to have lower overhead costs than tractors, and therefore increase profit per acre worked. Oxen have even lower overhead costs than horses, and since I only have 17 acres their slower pace is not an impediment to me.
If you’re new to oxen, start with the Getting Started Category, we’ll try to keep that pruned down to the most essential resources for a new teamster. You will find all the other categories in the sidebar to the right.
If you are a ox related business, organization, event planner, or teamster, you can submit links and/or add yourself to the map. (Unfortunately we are not yet able to put those together into a single submission form.)
